New Apple Card Coming Soon

[Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019]

There is already a Barclaycard Visa with Apple Rewards credit card, Apple Cash card, and recently Apple announced a new card – Apple Card. It is an innovative credit card that will be available in the U.S. this summer.

Thanks to its features and full integration with the Apple Wallet app, Apple Card is already called a new kind of credit card and the most secure credit card ever. The card has no fees, lower than industry average APR, new level of security, and cash back rewards program.

Apple Card is fully managed on iPhone through the Apple Wallet app and encourages to use Apple Pay. Consumers will be able to use the card with Apple Pay right after approval. All purchases will be categorized and given category colors and can be viewed right in Wallet by weekly or monthly spending summaries. The card balance will also be right here in Wallet, and consumers will be able to review how much they need to pay by the due date, the interest they will pay, and how much they should pay to avoid interest.

Customers will be able to earn cash back using Apple Card. All purchases made with Apply Pay will earn 2% cash back, but if a physical card is used, the earnings will only be 1% cash back. The maximum cash back – 3% – is earned on Apple purchases, including purchases on the App Store and Apple services. All cash back will be earned in the form of Daily Cash, which means cash back will be coming in every day, not at the end of a month. That’s great but there is one condition – consumers will need Apple Cash card for that. The Daily Cash will be loaded right into Apple Cash card and can be used from the card any time.

Even though Apple Card is built into the Apple Wallet app, the cardholders will also receive a physical Apple Card – a beautiful titanium card. And here is where security features of the card stand out most. The titanium Apple Card will have no card number, no CVV security code, no expiration date and no signature. So if the card is lost or stolen, nobody will know the card number. If the need of the card number or CVV occurs, they can be easily accessed in Wallet. When consumers use iPhone to make a purchase, every purchase is authorized with Face ID or Touch ID and a one-time unique dynamic security code.

To bring about Apple Card, Apple is partnering with Goldman Sachs and Mastercard. So the card is actually issued by Goldman Sachs and all payments are processed by Mastercard.
