MetaBank philosophy
MetaBank was founded in 1954 by a man named Stanley Haahr. He decided to open a new bank in Storm Lake, Iowa. Stanley Haahr and several of his friends contributed a total of ten thousand dollars. That was enough to incorporate the Storm Lake Savings and Loan Association. And in February of 1954, they opened with just a desk, a cash box and a vault that he borrowed.
From the very beginning Stanley Haahr preached a very simple philosophy MetaBank has been following for more than fifty years: “You’ve just gotta take care of the people”.
Today, after over fifty years of hard work and constant development MetaBank claims to be a leading issuer of rebate cards and gift prepaid cards in the United States and the world. It is the number one sponsor of ATMs in the United States and one of the top issuers of prepaid cards for Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
