Can I apply for a credit card even though I am based overseas in the UK ?

Answer:
Every time you apply for a credit card, you have to enter you Social Security Number, filling in the application. If you`re an official American resident, you`re supposed to have your SSN, certifying your citizenship. If you don`t have SSN, you should get it, applying fir it online or in some other way applicable. If you`re UK citizen, you can apply for one of UK credit cards available at our site, provided your credit score is good or excellent.Another option for you looks as follows. Some of American banks issue credit cards for foreigners, who want to make purchases here, in the USA. However there is again a restriction: you should have at least good credit score to be approved for a credit card of that group.

can i use my ING bank card to withdraw money from ATM machines in China and if so what are the charges?

Answer:
Actually you can use your credit card to access your account from any compatible ATM, 24 hours a day and all over the world. This method of money withdrawal is particularly suited to small sums of money. In order to withdraw money from an ATM in China, you must use an ATM machine that says Global Service and the Visa, MasterCard and other credit card logos. Your card must be on one of these systems. If you just see the Credit Card logos but no Global Service sign, you will not be able to withdraw cash. Still, besides of APR for ATM money withdrawal, you should be aware of foreign transaction fees, you`ll have to pay using ATM for money withdrawal. Usually foreign transaction rate is about 3%, there are also credit cards, for example, Capital One credit cards demanding no fees for foreign exchange procedures. To be aware of the charges you face, study terms and conditions of your credit card attentively.

Answer:
If you`ve moved in the USA and live here with your wife, but you have Canadian citizenship, there are several things you can do. First of all you could try to apply for one of Canada credit cards, offered at our site, in case you qualify for any of them. If you have your credit in Canada, you`ll have to build credit here, in the USA. Another option for you is to have a joint credit. This means that your wife could apply for a credit card, complying with her credit score and your mutual needs. After that she could apply to the bank applicable and fill in one more application, asking for your authorization for the credit card as a co-user. You both will take responsibility for your credit payments, and this could solidify relationship and trust. As soon as you`ll get your Social Security Number, you`ll have an opportunity to build you separate credit.

I have an American Express Optima card with a very high balance. I do not use this card anymore because I want to get the balance down, I had excellent credit with them until I was a victim of hurricane Katrina. Because of the hurricane I had to move several times, lost my job and was not able to keep up with my payments. I advised American Express of this but they told me that I should have called them sooner. Is there anything I can do to get this account lowered? Thanks

Answer:
First apply to the credit bureau and get a credit report to learn more about your credit score. Balance transfer credit cards are for people with good or excellent credit history. Look through balance transfer cards at our site and choose the appropriate credit card according to your taste and needs. Selecting the right bank credit card application, you can move your high rate balance to a better card which will help you save a lot of money. Compare best balance transfer credit cards, no annual fee credit cards and low interest credit card offers (e.g., American Express, Discover Card, Chase Bank credit card) and make an online credit card application. If you have fair credit, pay attention to credit cards with balance transfers for fair credit. If your credit history is bad, a way-out may be debt consolidation. Its purpose is to speed up paying time and at the same time makes lower monthly bills. Look for an appropriate debt consolidation program in the Internet as loans are out of our competence.
